The AS7056 Biosignal Sensor Analog Frontend (AFE) is the next generation Vital Sign Sensor. It enables the user to detect biosignals such as photoplethysmogram (PPG) and pulse transit time (PTT), as well as proximity. PPG is the most used HRM method. It measures the pulse rate – by sampling light modulated by the blood vessels, which expand and contract as blood pulses through them. Apart from HRM/HRV, optical Blood Pressure and SpO2 are also enabled by the two independent working photodiode inputs of the AS7056. The AS7056 is a size and performances optimized analog frontend to support space-limited applications such as in-ear vital sign monitoring.

940 nm Multi-Mode VCSEL Power Array

The AS5147U is a high-resolution redundant rotary position sensor for fast absolute angle measurement over a full 360-degree range. This position sensor is equipped with a revolutionary integrated dynamic angle error compensation (DAEC™) with almost 0 latency at higher rotational speed. For increased signal quality at lower rotational speed, the dynamic filter system (DFS™) reduces transition noise.

The AS5306 is an incremental position sensor for linear and rotary off-axis applications based on contactless magnetic sensor technology. To measure position and motion a multi-pole magnet strip or ring has to be used. There are 160 pulses per 2.4 mm pole pair length on the standardized quadrature output interface with an index pulse (=ABI-interface) with a maximum speed of 15m/s.

The AS5600 is an easy to program magnetic rotary position
sensor with a high-resolution 12-bit analog or PWM output. This
contactless system measures the absolute angle of a diametric
magnetized on-axis magnet. This AS5600 is designed for
contactless potentiometer applications and its robust design
eliminates the influence of any homogenous external stray
magnetic fields.

The AS5601 is an easy-to-program magnetic rotary position sensor with incremental quadrature (A/B) and 12-bit digital output. This contactless system measures the absolute angle of a diametric magnetized on-axis magnet. Additionally, the PUSH output indicates fast airgap changes between the AS5601 and magnet which can be used to implement a contactless push-button function in which the knob can be pressed to move the magnet toward the AS5601. It is designed for contactless magnetic position sensor applications and its robust design eliminates the influence of any homogenous external stray magnetic fields. The industry-standard I²C interface supports simple user programming of non-volatile parameters without requiring a dedicated programmer. The AS5601 is also equipped with a smart low power mode feature to automatically reduce the power consumption. The device is available in a small form factor, compact 8-pin SOIC package.

The AS5715A/AS5715R is an inductive sensor IC with differential SIN/COS output for high speed position sensing applications. To fulfill its purpose, the AS5715A/AS5715R device has to be connected to a coil system. The coil system consists of a TX (transmitting) and two RX (receiving) coils typically integrated on a PCB (Printed Circuit Board). The device excites the TX coil with a high frequency voltage. A target above the coil system effects the amount of voltage induced into the RX coils depending on the position of the target. The device senses, demodulates, and amplifies this
voltage. If If the coil system is designed properly, then the device output delivers SIN and COS shaped voltages. An ECU (Electronic Control Unit) can calculate the target position by applying an atan2() function to the SIN and COS output signal. The AS5715A/AS5715R is defined as SEooC (Safety  Element out of Context) according ISO26262.

The AS8579 is a capacitive sensor that detects the change of capacity in different applications. The capacitive sensor measures the impedance that originates between a conducting surface (metallic object) and a human being. The IC captures the current of a metal object and applies algorithms to determine the capacitive and resistive information. The outcome information can be read through a SPI Interface that can be also used for IC configuration. This high precision performance sensor also supports a multitude of diagnostic features that meet standard functional safety requirements. The capacitive sensing IC is specifically designed to function in an electro-magnetic environment (EMC) with high magnetic disturbances. This allows the sensor to distinguish in a hands-on application if the driver‘s hand is on the steering wheel or not. The AS8579 is available in an SSOP24 package and operates at a supply voltage of 5V.

The CMV20000 is a global shutter CMOS image sensor with 5120 by 3840 pixels. The image array consists of 6.4 μm x 6.4 μm pipelined global shutter pixels, which allow exposure during read out while performing CDS operation. The image sensor has sixteen 12-bit digital LVDS outputs (serial). The image sensor also integrates a programmable gain amplifier and offset regulation. Each channel runs at 480 Mbps maximum which results in 30 fps frame rate at full resolution. Higher frame rates can be
achieved in row-windowing mode or row-subsampling mode. These modes are all programmable using the SPI interface. A programmable on-board sequencer generates all internal exposure and read out timings. External triggering and exposure programming is possible. Extended optical dynamic range can be achieved by multiple integrated high dynamic range modes.

The CMV12000 is a high speed CMOS image sensor with 4096 by 3072 pixels (22.5 mm x 16.9 mm) developed for machine vision and other applications. The image array consists of 5.5 μm x 5.5 μm pipelined global shutter pixels, which allow exposure during read-out. The image sensor has 64 8-, 10-
or 12-bit digital LVDS outputs (serial). The image sensor also integrates a programmable gain amplifier and offset regulation. Each channel runs at 600 Mbit/s which results in 132 fps frame rate at full resolution and 12-bit. When 10-bit per pixel is used, the frame rate increases to 300 fps. Higher
frame rates can be achieved in row-windowing mode or row-subsampling mode. These modes are all programmable using the SPI interface. A programmable on-board sequencer generates all internal exposure and read-out timings. External triggering and exposure programming is possible. Extended optical dynamic range can be achieved by multiple integrated high dynamic range modes.

Mira030 is a monochrome global shutter CMOS image sensor with a resolution of 640H × 480V. The sensor supports complex on-chip operations such as external trigger, windowing and horizontal or
vertical mirroring. Its maximum frame rate is 180fps at a resolution of 640H × 480V. Registers of this chip are accessible via the standard I2C interface. External triggering is possible via the TRIG pin.

The TCS3400 device provides color and IR (red, green, blue, clear and IR) light sensing. The color sensing provides for improved accuracy lux and color temperature measurements typically used to adjust the backlight intensity and correct the display color gamut. Additionally it can be used for light source type detection as it reports the IR content of the light.

The TMD2635 features advanced proximity measurement in a tiny (1.0mm x 2.0mm) and thin (0.5mm) optical land grid array module that incorporates a 940nm IR VCSEL and is factory calibrated for IR proximity response. The proximity detection feature provides object detection (e.g. close proximity) by photodiode detection of reflected IR energy sourced by the
integrated VCSEL emitter. Detect/release events can be interrupt driven, and occur when proximity result crosses upper and/or lower threshold settings. The proximity engine features a wide range offset adjustment to compensate for unwanted IR energy reflection at the sensor. Proximity results are further improved by automatic ambient light subtraction.

The TMD2636 is an advanced IR proximity sensor module suited for short range proximity measurement detection and offered in the industry’s smallest size (1.0mm x 2.0mm) and thin (0.35mm) optical land grid array module that incorporates a 940nm IR VCSEL and is factory calibrated for IR proximity response. The proximity detection feature provides nearby object detection by photodiode detection of reflected IR energy sourced by the integrated VCSEL emitter. Sensitivity, power consumption, and noise can be optimized with adjustable timing and power. Detect/release events can be interrupt driven, and occur when proximity result crosses upper and/or lower threshold settings. The proximity engine features advanced crosstalk noise cancellation through a wide range offset adjustments to compensate for unwanted IR energy reflection at the sensor. Proximity results are further improved by automatic ambient light subtraction.

The TMF8701 is a time-of-flight (TOF) sensor in a single modular package  with associated VCSEL. The TOF device is based on SPAD, TDC and  histogram technology.

The TMF8801 is a dToF (direct time of flight) optical distance sensor  module achieving up to 2500mm target detection distance.

The TMF8820/21/28 is a dToF (direct time of flight) wide field of view optical distance sensor module achieving up to 5000 mm target detection distance and has up to 3×3, 4×4, 3×6 or 8×8 zones.

TSL2585 is a mini size ambient light sensor with UVA and light flicker detection, comes in a very low-profile and small footprint L2.0mm x W1.0mm x H0.35mm 6-pin OLGA package, perfectly fits wearable and mobile phone applications which are usually very space and height constrained.

The high sensitivity enables the device to work behind a low transmissivity covering glass providing an accurate ALS detection. In addition, TSL2585 has a special edge-located photodiode placement which allows for a narrow bezel design down to 0.4mm width when the device is placed very close to the product edge. Fulfilling requirements of today’s industrial design of designing bezel-less products for a good looking appearance.

The AS6221 is a high accurate digital temperature sensor with an accuracy of up to ±0.09°C, which is ideal for healthcare applications, wearables and devices requiring high-performance thermal information. The AS6221, is a complete digital sensor system, requires no calibration or linearization. It provides measurement outputs via a standard I²C interface. The sensor supports eight I²C addresses avoiding bus conflicts in multi-sensor use cases. The ultra-small size of the sensor (WLCSP 1.5 mm x 1.0 mm) enables accurate body/skin temperature measurements in very small health and lifestyle monitoring products. In addition to the high accuracy and the small form factor, the AS6221 offers a very low power consumption, for example measuring with 4 samples/s, the current consumption is only 6 µA. The sensor has 4 different automatic acquisition modes and keeps the high accuracy over the full supply range from 1.71 to 3.6 V. An integrated alert functionality triggers an interrupt to the micro controller when a temperature threshold is exceeded. The temperature threshold for the alert function can be adjusted in a device register.

The AS6221 production test setup is calibrated according NIST and the verification equipment is calibrated by an ISO/IEC-17025 accredited laboratory.
